AIM High Building Fund
The Balwyn High School community is incredibly proud of the quality of the facilities that we are able to provide. In recent years this has included an expansion of the Tony Frizza Sport Centre with the provision of a new show court, the total redesign and redevelopment of the Robert Handreck Sports Field, the expansion and redevelopment of the G Newitt Music Centre and the total rebuilding of our B and C wings incorporating the Deborah Harman Centre for Learning and wilam-nganjin (Our Place).
The provision of these facilities has been made possible by the support of our community through the AIM High Building Fund. Established by school council 30 years ago, the purpose of the Aim High Building Fund is to significantly add to the basic infrastructure provided by government funding. The Fund enables members of the school community to invest in the school’s building projects so it can continue to provide excellent learning facilities.
The Aim High Building Fund is a tax-deductible trust and parents, alumni and community members can donate throughout the year. We welcome enquiries to our Reception on 9819 7911 for more details on how you can donate to the Aim High Building Fund.
Upcoming Projects
David McGrail Theatre
We are excited to announce the renovation project to upgrade and enhance the David McGrail theatre.
Our vision is to create a state-of-the-art theatre that will be a hub for creativity and innovation in the school community. With your help, we can bring this building to life and provide a space where emerging artists can showcase their talents and where audiences can experience music, theatre and performance at its best. Our renovation project will feature cutting-edge technology, modern amenities, and flexible spaces to accommodate a variety of productions, concerts and events.
By donating to the Aim High fund, you will be contributing to the growth of the arts in our school and supporting a legacy that will last for generations. Please join us in this exciting venture and donate to the Aim High building fund today!
A-Wing Building
The oldest part of the school is our A-Wing portables which consist of 2 x Mod 5 (circa 1960) and 1 x Mod 5 (2012). These are situated on the northern boundary of the school and immediately adjacent to our new B Wing.
It is our intention to replace all three-school managed relocatable buildings to include the possibility of a Year 11 Study Centre (the current VCE Centre already accommodates up to 400 students), additional toilet facilities, staff rooms and Wellbeing spaces for senior students. In effect it is envisaged that we could double our current A Wing floor space to improve the teaching and learning facilities for our students and staff.
This new build will significantly enhance the work already completed through the Deborah Harman Centre for Learning and provide state of the art learning opportunities for our students.
